The Meiner Flats building is slated to be demolished by the City of Cincinnati unless action is taken to demonstrate there is a commitment to save the building.

The imposing 5 storey "Meiner Flats" building in Cincinnati's historic Over-the-Rhine is in dire need of assistance to save it from impending demolition. Its removal would leave a gaping hole at the northern end of the neighborhood's central corridor, and diminish the character of this truly unique and cohesive historic district.

- I am an individual who is passionate about the preservation and revitalization of Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. I attended MIT's Master in City Planning program with the goal of returning to Cincinnati to work toward the preservation and revitalization of Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine. After graduating, I took a job for an economic development consulting firm in Austin, TX to gain experience and insight into the economic foundations of cities. I'm so glad you have a blog out on this! I will link your site to my blog in the hopes it drives more people to learn about this. I really think a petition drive? Maybe you could set up at findlay marlet would help. If the city understands that there is broad based support maybe they can divert those monies to stabilization. Perhaps you could act a mediator on the ownership issue. This building is important and should be saved.
